Heliport Licensing

Heliports are required to meet rules referenced under 8800.1400 General Airport Licensing Provisions and those specified for a Personal Use Heliport License, Private Heliport License, or the Public Heliport Criteria, referenced under Minnesota Rules 8800.1800, 8800.2100, and 8800.2200.

If a proponent is considering establishment of a heliport, they can utilize an architect or engineer to design the heliport. The latest edition of the FAA Heliport Design Advisory Circular (AC) 150-5390, Chapter 2 contains the majority of the criteria for designing a heliport. There are also items that should be considered in the Minnesota Rules 8800.1800, 8800.2100, and 8800.2200.

See the Airport Licensing page more information on the process to license a heliport .
