I-35 resurfacing, bridge project begins April 11 in Pine County

Motorists may encounter temporary lane closures April 4 – April 8

DULUTH, Minn. — A resurfacing and bridge project is scheduled to begin Monday, April 11 in Pine County. The project area is located from 1 mile south of County Road 11 to 1.8 miles north of Hwy 23.

Motorists may encounter temporary lane closures as crews set up the traffic control for the project during the week of April 4.

Northbound I-35 will close sometime Monday, April 11 at the St. Croix Valley Bridge, which is located about two miles south of Hinckley.

After the northbound lanes close, all northbound and southbound traffic will use the southbound lanes in a head-to-head traffic configuration.

Motorists should expect delays, especially during weekends.

The project will be completed in late-October 2016.

The completed project will improve safety and mobility.
