MnDOT announces dedication event date for Hwy 53 relocation project
VIRGINIA, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will conduct a dedication event for the Highway 53 relocation project on Friday, August 18, 2017.
“Based on the progress the contractor is making, we should be able to open the project to traffic by mid-August,” said Pat Huston, MnDOT project director. “While there are a number of variables that could affect the schedule, we are confident in announcing this date.”
Huston added that the City of Virginia, Iron Range Tourism, the Laurentian Chamber, IRRRB and MnDOT have formed a committee to plan the dedication. Points of contact for that committee are Krissy Anderson, Laurentian Chamber of Commerce, email@example.com and Britt See-Benes, Virginia City Administrator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
