Work begins Sept. 4 on Hwy 61 between 8th Street and 5th Street in Two Harbors
Paving work between County Road 2 and the Silver Creek Tunnel also begins Sept. 4
Duluth, Minn. – Construction begins on Highway 61 between 8th Street and 5th Street Tuesday, September 4 in Two Harbors. Shoulders will be closed and no parking will be allowed in the designated work area. Work on the project will also require short-term, side-street closures.
Paving on Highway 61 also begins Tuesday, September 4 between County Road 2 and the Silver Creek Tunnel.
This work will require lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car.
11-foot width restrictions will be in place.
The next weekly public meeting for the project will be Thursday, August 30 at 12:30 p.m., at the Lake County Law Enforcement Center (Lake County Courthouse), 601 3rd Ave., Two Harbors, MN 55616. These weekly public meetings will continue through October 11 to update residents and businesses on the project.
