Routine ramp inspections, closures scheduled April 23‒25 in Duluth

Work originally scheduled for April 22 postponed to April 25

Duluth, Minn. – Motorists travelling on Interstate 35 and I-535 in Duluth may encounter temporary ramp closures and detours while crews do routine bridge and ramp inspections Tuesday, April 23 through Thursday, April 25.

Monday, April 22
Work cancelled due to rain.

Tuesday, April 23
The northbound I-535 to northbound I-35 ramp will close between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for routine inspections.
Motorists will be detoured.

Wednesday, April 24
The northbound I-535 to southbound I-35 ramp will close between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for routine inspections. Motorists will be detoured.

Thursday, April 25

  • The northbound and southbound Michigan Street Bridge over southbound Highway 194 will be reduced to a single lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • The ramp from southbound Highway 194 to southbound I-35 will have alternating lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • The westbound Highway 194 Bridge over Superior Street will have alternating lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures beneath the bridge on Superior St.

All ramps will be open both days for the morning and evening commute.
Motorists are asked to be patient and use caution in and around work areas.
