I-35 lane closures begin Tuesday, Sept. 3

DULUTH, Minn. — Motorists along I-35 will experience lane closures during two separate projects beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Closures in Duluth include the left lane of northbound I-35 between the Highway 53 on-ramp and Garfield Avenue bridge from Tuesday-Thursday, Sept. 3-5, and Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 11-13. The lane closure will be in place each day from 9 a.m. until evening and come down each night. Closures are due to drilling and surveying in preparation of the Twin Ports Interchange project.

Closures near Willow River also begin Tuesday, and one lane each of northbound and southbound lanes will be closed due to bridge painting on County Highway 43 where it crosses over I-35. It is anticipated to be completed by mid-September.
