Orange barrels on a highway

Culvert replacement on Hwy 75 north of Humboldt begins Aug. 8

Two-week project includes detour

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 75 north of Humboldt will experience a detour beginning Aug. 8 as crews replace a culvert at the Salt Coulee. This project had been delayed because of wet conditions, if those circumstances continue to exist it will be delayed further.

The detour is located on Kittson County Road 6 and County Road 12. It is expected to last two weeks, weather permitting.

Davidson Construction is the contractor for the $485,000 project. The work will ensure a smoother and safer roadway with better drainage for motorists in the region.

MnDOT urges motorists to follow these recommendations in work zones: stay alert; watch for signs, equipment and workers; minimize distractions, such as using cell phones, eating or drinking; avoid tailgating; follow posted speed limits and directional signs; and stay in one lane while driving through the work zone.
