Lighting installed on the Kennedy Bridge in East Grand Forks on Aug. 20
BEMIDJI, Minn. – Lighting on the Kennedy Bridge in East Grand Forks will be installed beginning Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Work will be completed by the end of the day Aug. 20, weather permitting. Motorists can expect minor delays and lane closures.
The Kennedy Bridge has been under construction as part of a two-year reconstruction project. In December, 2018, the bridge was reopened to four lanes of traffic.
The Kennedy Bridge was built in 1963 and currently serves 23,000 vehicles per day. Along with preserving the historic nature of the bridge, the project improves safety for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.
The $15.66 million project is a joint design of MnDOT, the North Dakota Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration. Visit the project website at mndot.gov/d2/projects/kennedybridge for more information or join our Facebook group, facebook.com/groups/mndotnorthwest.
