Hwy 27/I-94 bridge opens June 15, lane closures resume June 22
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists will find all lanes of Highway 27 at I-94, south of Osakis, open by 5 p.m. Thursday, June 15. The Highway 27 bridge spanning I-94 has been closed since late March, 2017, while crews repaired and resurfaced the bridge.
Daytime lane closures on Highway 27 and the Highway 27/I-94 interchange ramps south of Osakis are scheduled to resume June 22—30. Highway 27 and the interchange ramps will remain open, and flaggers will control traffic through the daily work zones. Motorists navigating the work zones must obey the flaggers and all traffic control signage and devices, slow down, be prepared to stop and give crews room to work safely.
These intermittent closures are needed while crews resurface the interchange’s lanes and ramps.
The closures and work are part of a project to rehabilitate and resurface the Highway 27 bridge, repair and resurface both bridge approaches and resurface all four Highway 27/I-94 interchange ramps. When complete, the project will extend the life of the bridge and improve the road’s ride.
