Plan for slow or stopped traffic on eastbound Interstate 94 in Monticello Dec. 5

ST CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists who travel eastbound Interstate 94 through Monticello will encounter work crews, slow or stopped traffic and delays while the road is reduced to a single lane Wednesday, Dec. 5.

The lane closures will begin at 9 a.m., and be complete by 4 p.m.

The closures are needed as crews wrap up the recently completed new Fallon Avenue bridge project. The project constructed a new roadway with a bridge that spans I-94 and connects Fallon Avenue to Seventh Street, and includes three new roundabouts plus additional sidewalk and trail connections. The project will decrease congestion, improve mobility and safety for motorists and pedestrians, and provide improved access to schools and businesses on the south side of I-94 in Monticello.

The project was led by the city of Monticello. For more information, visit www.ci.monticello.mn.us/project.
