Belgrade-Brooten area motorists invited to learn details about 2021 Highway 55 project at two open houses

St. Cloud, Minn. – Belgrade-Brooten area residents and those who travel Highway 55 through Stearns County are invited to attend two informal open houses to learn about a 2021 project that will resurface Highway 55 and improve sidewalks through Brooten and Belgrade.

The first public open house will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Belgrade Municipal Hall, 417 Washburn Ave.

The second open house will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Brooten City Hall, 147 Central Ave. N.

Open house attendees will be able to learn about the project, construction details, planned traffic changes and tentative schedule, view a layout of the project, speak with project staff and get questions answered.

The project is scheduled for the 2021 construction season, and will resurface .6 miles of Highway 55 from Stearns County Road 19 to Borgerding Avenue in Belgrade, and .6 miles of Highway 55 from just west of School Avenue to Ash Avenue in Brooten. The project will also improve sidewalks in both cities.

When complete, the project will provide a smoother ride and accessibility.
