Open house set for Hwy 24 reconstruction, improvement project in Annandale on March 9

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – All who travel on Highway 24 in Annandale are invited to attend an open house on Monday, March 9 to learn more about a 2020 construction project that will begin this spring.

The open house will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Annandale City Hall, 30 Cedar Street in Annandale. There is no formal presentation and guests are invited to arrive anytime. Attendees will learn about the project detours and work stages, see project layouts, have an opportunity to ask questions and take home information.
The estimated $4.9 million Highway 24 project will:

  • Reconstruct the road with a new asphalt surface between Highway 55 and Poplar Avenue, includes street parking, road approaches and entrances.
  • Replace storm sewer and underground city utilities, includes water main and sanitary sewer.
  • Reconstruct pedestrian sidewalks and approaches along both sides of Highway 24, includes wider sidewalks between Highway 55 and Park Street.

The project will require road, parking and sidewalk closures on Highway 24 and will be done in two stages. Access will be maintained to businesses and residents, but expect changes.
