Crews to begin work on Interstate 94/Highway 23 access improvement project April 13
ST. CLOUD, Minn. —Motorists will encounter delays on Monday, April 13 through June 2020 as crews work to complete two new access loops at the Interstate 94/Highway 23 interchange south of Waite Park, Stearns County.
Construction on the new loops began in summer 2019. On Monday, April 13 crews will:
- Complete concrete work
- Install signs and lighting at the I-94/Highway 23 interchange
Motorists can expect periodic median and ramp closures. Access will change at the interchange and motorists should follow posted signs.
The $2.1 million project, which is expected to be complete in June, will improve traffic flow, safety and access at the busy interchange.
MnDOT road work has been identified as a critical service in Governor Walz’s Stay at Home executive order and will continue. MnDOT is working to be as flexible as possible with scheduling during this period of lower traffic volumes to keep projects moving forward in a timely manner. Following guidance from state health officials and to prevent further spread of COVID-19, crews will maintain social distancing practices while working.
