UPDATE: City of Isanti to install reduced conflict intersection at Hwy 65, Cajima Street
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The city of Isanti continues to reconstruct a new reduced conflict intersection (RCI) at Highway 65 and Cajima Street through June.
Crews will begin to reconstruct the second half of the intersection on Wednesday, June 3. Here's what to expect:
- Highway 65 will remain a single-lane of traffic through the work area.
- Access to Cajima Street will close at Highway 65. Motorists to follow detour signs along Isanti County Road 5.
- The new RCI will open by late June.
The project is similar to the recently installed RCIs at several intersections south of Isanti along Highway 65.
RCIs, also known as J-turns or R-cuts, are intersections that decrease fatalities and injuries caused by broadside crashes on four-lane divided highways. You can learn more about RCIs at mndot.gov/roadwork/rci.

Please slow down and use caution when approaching work zones. Motorists are asked to watch for workers, traffic control, equipment, and follow posted speeds. Fines for violating work zone speed limits is $300.
