Hwy 30 bridge replacement east of Hayfield, detour begins June 16
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Highway 30 motorists east of Hayfield will encounter a detour beginning on June 16 when a bridge replacement project begins, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Icon Constructors, LLC, is the prime contractor on the $658,000 project on Highway 30 near Dodge County Road 15. It is expected to be completed in September 2016. The bridge, which is 7 miles east of Hayfield, was constructed in 1951. The work includes grading, paving and replacement of the bridge, as well as guardrail installation.
The detour route for eastbound Highway 30 motorists is north on Dodge County Road 15, east on Dodge County Road 4, which becomes Olmsted County Road 26, then south on Olmsted County Road 3 back to Highway 30. Westbound route is the reverse. A map with the detour route is at www.dot.state.mn.us/d6/projects/hwy30-bridge/pdfs/detour.pdf
To learn more about the project, go to MnDOT’s project web site: www.dot.state.mn.us/d6/projects/hwy30-bridge/index.html. There, users can sign up for email updates about the project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
