The closure will stretch from Highway 19 in Cannon Falls to Highway 50 in Hampton. Motorists should allow extra time for their trip because of the detour.

During this time, detour routes will be:

  • Northbound motorists will be detoured east on Highway 19 at Cannon Falls, north on Highway 20 and west on Highway 50 near Hampton.
  • Southbound motorists will be detoured at Highway 50 at Hampton, south on Highway 56 and east on Highway 19 to Cannon Falls.

A detour map is available at: www.co.dakota.mn.us/Transportation/CurrentConstruction/CR86/Documents/TH52DetourMap.pdf

The closure is part of the Dakota County Road 86 interchange at Highway 52 project. During the closure, workers will be setting bridge beams and replacing two culverts. In case of inclement weather, the closure will occur the following weekend.

The project includes construction of a bridge, ramps, loop, reconstruction of 1.3 miles of County Road 86 from Highway 52 to the east county line, replacement of two culverts crossing Highway 52 and closure of two median crossovers. These improvements will increase safety and improve traffic flow at this intersection.
