Lane closures planned on Hwy 74, Hwy 60 bridges for repairs
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists on Highway 60 near Dumfries and Highway 74 near Weaver will encounter lane closures beginning Tuesday, Aug. 16 while repairs are made to the areas around two bridges, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Both sites are in Wabasha County. Repairs are needed to the areas adjacent to the bridge after heavy rains this week. The lane closures are to allow the crews to safely work and keep motorists safe during the work.
On Highway 60, the bridge is near Dumfries on Trout Creek. The highway will be reduced to one lane with a traffic signal to regulate traffic crossing the bridge.
On Highway 74, area around a concrete box culvert will repaired just south of Weaver. The road is gravel and is part of a short stretch that is MnDOT’s only gravel road in the state. Traffic will be single lane there as well.
Work on both repair projects is expected to be completed by Labor Day.
Motorists should always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
