Westbound I-90 on-ramp at Dresbach Welcome Center to briefly close for repairs

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists returning to westbound Interstate 90 from the Dresbach Welcome Center will be detoured for one day on Aug. 29, while concrete repairs are completed, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The on-ramp will close at 7 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29 and reopen Tuesday morning, Aug. 30. Motorists who want to use the ramp to get to westbound I-90 will be detoured to La Crescent on Highway 61 and then routed back up northbound Highway 61 to go westbound on I-90 during the 24-hour closure.

The Dresbach Bridge project is a cooperative effort between the Minnesota and Wisconsin departments of transportation. The project includes constructing a new I-90 crossing over the Mississippi River and reconstructing the Highway 61/14 and the I-90 interchange.

The $187.5 million project began in late 2012 and will be completed this fall.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
