Hwy 60 detour near West Albany remains in place for bridge deck repaving
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists on Highway 60 near West Albany in Wabasha County will see the closure and detour for bridge deck repaving continue into the week of Oct. 17 as Minnesota Department of Transportation crews await sufficient curing of the concrete.
The delay in opening the road is necessary for the concrete to gain the required strength so that traffic can travel on the bridge.
The repaving work requires a detour for traffic to take westbound Hwy 60 traffic north on Wabasha County Road 4 to Wabasha County Road 33 west to Wabasha County Road 2 south, where it connects with Hwy 60. The eastbound route is the reverse.
The route for motorists accessing Spring Creek Motocross is signed and accessible from the east side of the work zone on Highway 60.
Motorists should always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
