Southbound Hwy 43 lane reopened near Choice after repairs completed
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The southbound lane of Highway 43 north of Choice in Fillmore County has reopened after crews temporarily repaired damage to the roadway from last month’s high water, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The damaged roadway is adjacent to a bridge over a stream near milepost 11. The repairs on the roadway remain in gravel to allow it to compact. Crews will return later this month to do additional work on the roadway.
The damaged roadway was the result of significant rain last month across southeastern Minnesota and the ensuing flooding of waterways that occurred.
The only current highway closure in southeastern Minnesota from the heavy rains last month is Highway 65 (Main Street) in Albert Lea, which is closed at Katherine Street with a local detour in place.
