Hwy 65 (Main Street) opens eastbound lanes in Albert Lea near Fountain Lake
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The eastbound lanes of Highway 65 (Main Street) in Albert Lea reopened Tuesday, Oct. 4 near Fountain Lake, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Flooding from heavy rains closed the roadway last month.
The westbound lanes are expected to open late in the day Wednesday, Oct. 5 or Thursday, Oct. 6.
The closure remains for westbound, which takes a detour of Garfield Avenue to East Front Street to South Broadway.
No other state highways in southeast Minnesota are closed because of flooding from heavy rains that occurred Sept. 21-22.
