Nov. 9 open house set in Kellogg for Hwy 42 bridge replacement

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The public is invited to an open house on Nov. 9 in Kellogg to learn more about a bridge replacement on Highway 42 next summer that will detour motorists, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The meeting will be from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the Kellogg Fire Hall. MnDOT engineers and others will be on hand to talk about the project, including timelines, detour information and scope of the project.

The project will replace the Highway 42 bridge over Gorman Creek from July to October next year.

Traffic will be detoured during construction from Highway 42 to Wabasha County Road 14 east to Highway 61.

Local traffic will be allowed on Highway 42 east and west of the bridge construction area but will not be able to cross the bridge.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
