Hwy 58 motorists near Red Wing High School reminded intersection has flashing yellow arrows

RED WING, Minn. – Red Wing motorists are reminded during back-to-school time that the traffic signals at Hwy 58 and Pioneer Road near Red Wing High School have flashing yellow left-turn arrows, a change from past signals, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The new signals were part of the work at the intersection that includes improved pedestrian ramps and access. The signals now include flashing yellow left-turn arrows.  Drivers making left-hand turns during a flashing yellow arrow must yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians and turn with caution.

Red Wing Public Schools begin classes on Wednesday, Sept. 4, so additional people will be walking and biking during the morning and evenings, as well as added traffic on roadways.
