Hwy 52 between Preston and Fountain reopens after concrete repairs completed
PRESTON, Minn. – Hwy 52 concrete repairs between Fountain and Preston were completed Wednesday, Oct. 2 and the road was reopened to traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Interstate Improvement Co. of Faribault, Minn., a MnDOT contractor, repaired concrete along the 7-mile stretch between Fountain and through Preston in Fillmore County. Traffic was detoured during the work.
The repair work required the removal of some concrete panels in the road where the joints have failed or panels that were in need of replacement. To learn more, go to mndot.gov/information/roads/cpr.html.
Similar work is taking place now on Interstate 35 between Faribault and Elko New Market in both directions. One lane in each direction of the four-lane highway is closed through the month.
