Hwy 80 detour for culvert replacement near Hwy 52, Fountain runs Oct. 14-18
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Hwy 80 traffic is detoured beginning Monday, Oct. 14 so crews can replace a culvert about 2 miles west of Hwy 52 near Fountain, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The detour for motorists is to use Hwy 16. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 18, weather permitting. If the work is completed sooner, the road will be reopened at that time.
Local traffic in Fillmore County may use Hwy 80 to travel to residences and businesses along the highway, but may not travel through. The culvert work is at mile marker 6.7, about 2 miles west of Hwy 52 and Fountain.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
