Hwy 52 lanes closed Wednesday in Rochester for temporary repairs to damaged concrete barrier
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Hwy 52 motorists in south Rochester will encounter lane closures on Wednesday as crews make temporary repairs to a concrete median barrier that was damaged by a crash last week, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Temporary steel barriers are being installed at the damaged portion of the concrete barrier south of the 16th St. SW exit and on-ramps. The median-side lanes in both directions are closed through Wednesday afternoon to ensure safety for the workers and motorists.
The temporary repairs will be replaced in the warmer spring months when crews return to patch the hole in the barrier with concrete.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
