MANKATO, Minn. — Motorists are advised that traffic changes are coming again for the Interstate 90 project from Sherburn to Fairmont as early as Monday, July 24.

  • On Monday, July 24 I-90 westbound ramps at Welcome (Highway 263) are expected to open.
  • Around August 1 the I-90 eastbound ramps at Fairmont (Highway 15) are expected to open.
  • Around August 1 the I-90 resurfacing work will move to points between Welcome and Fairmont.
  • Around August 1 the I-90 westbound ramps at Martin County 39 could possibly close.  (County Road 39 ramps will not be closed at the same time as Highway 15 ramps.)

The project is expected to be complete by mid-August. MnDOT thanks all the area motorists for their patience during this important resurfacing project.

The project includes resurfacing the westbound lanes between Sherburn and Fairmont and the eastbound lanes for about a mile west of Fairmont. Four bridges will be repaired and lighting replaced. Ulland Brothers, Inc. of Albert Lea have been awarded the project with a bid of $7,392,429.
