Road closures now open, some travel advisories lifted in south central Minnesota
MANKATO, Minn. – (10:00 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation reopened all previously closed roadways at 10:00 a.m., as well as lifted some of the previously issued no travel advisories.
Highways now open include:
- Interstate 90 from Blue Earth to the South Dakota border
- Highway 60 from Mankato to Worthington
- All state highways west of Highway 15
No travel advisories have been lifted in the following counties:
- Blue Earth
- Le Sueur
- The eastern half of Brown
Motorists should still use caution in these counties, as snow and ice compaction along with high winds will make travel difficult.
No travel advisories remain in effect for the following counties: Rock, Nobles, Jackson, Cottonwood, Martin, Watonwan and the western half of Brown.
MnDOT reminds motorists to be patient while snowplow operators work to improve driving conditions. The majority of snowplow crashes take place during “clean up” when motorists resume their normal speeds.
