Mankato Levee work complete; traffic restrictions to be removed Friday
MANKATO, Minn. – The Mankato levee on Highway 169 near Highway 14 is expected to be complete on Friday, November 16 with all traffic restrictions in the area removed.
Ramp restrictions were removed on Tuesday, November 6, but Highway 169 was still one lane each way and the left turn into the Happy Chef area was still closed. By late Friday afternoon, those restrictions and the additional traffic control near the Kwik Trip (at the Lind Street intersection) will all be removed.
The project is designed to bring the Mankato Levee up to current FEMA standards and is a partnership effort between MnDOT, Mankato and North Mankato. Project information can be found on at www.mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy169mankato/.
OMG Midwest (SMC) was awarded the Highway 169 levee construction with a bid of $1,670,000.
