No travel advised in south central Minnesota

MnDOT plans to pull plows overnight; potential for road closures 

MANKATO, Minn. – (5:15 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) anticipates issuing NO TRAVEL ADVISED for the following counties today, February 23 in south central Minnesota due to the forecasted blizzard.  

MnDOT expects to pull its plows during the night due to heavy snow and strong winds creating white-out conditions making it unsafe for it’s drivers.

Counties included in the 6 pm no travel advisory include (MnDOT District 7):

  • Faribault
  • Jackson 
  • Martin

7 pm No Travel Advisory:

  • Blue Earth 
  • Brown 
  • Cottonwood 
  • Waseca
  • Watonwan 

8 pm No Travel Advisory:

  • Nobles 

9 pm No Travel Advisory:

  • Le Sueur
  • Nicollet 
  • Rock
  • Sibley 

No state highways are closed at this time, however there is a high possibility of road closures with this storm.
