Highway 19 east of Henderson to Highway 169 closes due to Minnesota River flooding

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol will be closing Highway 19 from Henderson to Highway 169 by 1 p.m. (Tuesday, March 19) due to flooding from the Minnesota River.

Motorists will need to find an alternate route, as Highway 93 south of Henderson is already closed due to flooding. Highway 19 will remain closed until further notice.

Highways that remain closed:

  • Highway 19 east of Henderson
  • Highway 93 south of Henderson
  • Highway 4 north of St. James

Lane closures:

  • Highway 30 east of Mapleton

When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
