Traffic restrictions removed on Mankato end of Highway 60 median barrier project

MANKATO, Minn. — The lane closures on Highway 60 from Highway 68 to the Blue Earth River Bridge in Mankato have been removed due to progress on the installation of cable barriers.

Inside lane closures remain from Highway 68 to Lake Crystal, but all access and turn lanes along Highway 60 remain open, including access to Welsh Heritage Farms. The project began on October 7 and is expected to be complete in early November, weather permitting.

The cable median barrier project begins at Blue Earth County Road 112 in Lake Crystal to the south junction of Highway 60 and Highway 169 and extends along Highway 169/60 in Mankato to the Blue Earth River.

The project is part of the districtwide safety improvements to limit severe cross-median crashes on four-lane divided highways. More information on the barriers can be found at mndot.gov/trafficeng/reports/cmbarrier.html.
