Detour of Hwy 4 in Hector begins August 18

WILLMAR, Minn. – The city of Hector will start a project August 18 which will detour motorists between the junction of Highway 4 and Douglass Ave to the junction of Highway 4 and Birch Ave. 

The project includes storm sewer and sanitary sewer work, a water main replacement and the construction of sidewalk and pedestrian ramps to meet current ADA standards.

A detour will be in effect from August 18 to October 1.  A width limit of 13’6” will be in effect.  Bridge 65521 on CR 16 will have a weight limit of 26 tons for single vehicles and 40 tons for semis.

The detour route for the project is: junction of CR 16 and Highway 212, then north for approximately 5.7 miles on CR 16, then east for approximately 3 miles on CR 11 to junction of Highway 4.

Quam Construction is the contractor on the project.  Any questions regarding this project should be directed to the City of Hector as this is a city project.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution in work zones and to slow down when workers are present.
