Hwy 4 detour in Hector extended to October 14

WILLMAR, Minn. – The city of Hector began a project August 18 which detoured motorists between the junction of Highway 4 and Douglass Ave to the junction of Highway 4 and Birch Ave. 

Originally the detour was expected to be in effect from August 18 to October 1.  The end date has been extended to October 14.

The detour route for the project is: junction of CR 16 and Highway 212, then north for approximately 5.7 miles on CR 16, then east for approximately 3 miles on CR 11 to junction of Highway 4.

The project includes storm sewer and sanitary sewer work, a water main replacement and the construction of sidewalk and pedestrian ramps to meet current ADA standards.

Quam Construction is the contractor on the project.  Any questions regarding this project should be directed to the City of Hector as this is a city project.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution in work zones and to slow down when workers are present.
