Hwy 12 Downtown Litchfield Study complete

WILLMAR, Minn. – MnDOT is pleased to announce the completion of the Highway 12 Downtown Litchfield Study. The final report can be found on the project website.

MnDOT is planning a reconstruction of Highway 12 and Highway 22 through downtown Litchfield in 2019. The reconstruction involves four blocks of Highway 12 and Highway 22 from Commercial Street to 4th Street. The reconstruction includes the roadway and sidewalks.
The Highway 12 Downtown Litchfield study identifies the needs of the Litchfield community and other roadway users.

In addition to the final report, conceptual plans, survey results and materials from the three open houses are also available on the website.

The project will now enter into the design phase. Recently, crews were working in downtown Litchfield surveying and locating utilities. There will be additional opportunities in the next two years for the public to get involved in the project.

This project helps ensure Minnesota’s transportation system will continue to serve the state for many years.
