Highway 23 alternating lane closures begin Sept. 4

WILLMAR, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 23 will encounter alternating lane closures from September 4, 2018, until October 26, 2018, as crews work on the resurfacing project which began August 13, 2018 in Spicer. The project includes the resurfacing of Highway 23 from just north of US 71 (“the split”) to Kandiyohi CR 31, where the four-lane switches back to two-lane.

Northbound and southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane. Motorists should plan for short delays.

A width restriction will also be in place. Vehicles that exceed the twelve-foot limit should seek alternate routes or contact Construction Supervisor Al Setrum at 320-894-7424.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, and reminds them to slow down in the work zone and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.

For more information visit the project webpage at mndot.gov/d8/projects/hwy23willmarnewlondon.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones. Remember, orange cones, no phones. Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers face a $300 fine.
