U.S. Highway 75 closes south of Madison due to flooding
WILLMAR, Minn. – (10:20 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed U.S. Highway 75 south of Madison due to flooding.
Traffic will detour east out of Madison on Highway 40, then south on Highway 119 to Dawson, and continue west on U.S. Highway 212 back to U.S. Highway 75.
This segment of U.S. Highway 75 will remain closed until further notice.
When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
