Hwy 100 in western Twin Cities metro area closing April 15-18
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 100 in the western Twin Cities metro area will encounter detours at Interstate 394 and Highway 62 beginning Friday night, April 15.
Both directions of Highway 100 between I-394 in Golden Valley and Highway 62 in Edina will close at 9 p.m. April 15 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 18, weather permitting.
Motorists will be detoured around the closure via I-35W, I-394, Highway 169 and Highway 62.
The closure is needed while crews begin demolition of the Highway 7 bridge.
The work is part of a larger project on Highway 100 that includes:
- Reconstructing Highway 100 at the Highway 7 and Minnetonka Boulevard interchanges in St. Louis Park.
- Widening the highway between West 36th Street and 25 1/2 Street to include three lanes in each direction for improved capacity.
Motorists should allow for extra travel time or find alternative routes during construction.
