Cretin Avenue Bridge in St. Paul closing May 5

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Cretin Avenue bridge in St. Paul will close to all traffic for approximately three weeks starting at 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016. 

During the closure, motorists will need to follow the signed detour which uses University Avenue, Fairview Avenue, Marshall Avenue and I-94 to bypass the closure.

Southbound Detour:

  • Eastbound University Avenue to southbound Fairview Avenue to westbound Marshall Avenue

Northbound Detour:

  • Eastbound Marshall Avenue to northbound Cleveland Avenue to westbound University Avenue to Eustis Street to either Eastbound I-94 or Westbound I-94

During the closure, crews will repair the bridge deck, resurface, replace the sidewalks and install new guardrail.

The Cretin Avenue bridge will reopen by Thursday, May 26, 2016, weather permitting.
