Interstate 35W closes this weekend for Ramsey County Road H bridge demolition in Arden Hills, Mounds View
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Both directions of Interstate 35W will close between I-694 and the west junction of I-35W and Highway 10 this weekend for demolition of the Ramsey County Road H bridge crossing Interstate 35W on the border of Arden Hills and Mounds View.
Motorists will encounter lane closures on I-35W beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, June 3 as construction crews begin preliminary work for the bridge removal. The interstate will close in each direction from 10 p.m. Friday, June 3 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 6. The County Road H bridge and ramps at I-35W closed to traffic on May 10.
During the closure, motorists should follow the signed detours to reach their destinations:
- Northbound I-35W: Detour east on I-694 and north on I-35E.
- Southbound I-35W (north of the I-35E/I-35W split in Columbus): Detour south on I-35E and west on I-694.
- Southbound I-35W (south of the I-35E/I-35W split in Columbus): Detour west on Highway 10, south on Hwy 65/Central Avenue and east on Ramsey County Road 10.
The County Road H bridge will remain closed and detoured throughout the project. There will be occasional lane closures and full closures of the interstate during the work.
When completed late this fall, the new County Road H bridge will improve access across I-35W and improve safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. The new bridge also will be a longer lasting, smoother, wider and more modern structure.
