Southbound Interstate 35E lane closures, ramp closure in St Paul occurs June 25-26
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays and a detour on southbound Interstate 35E in St. Paul as the road is reduced to a single lane and the ramp to eastbound Interstate 94/southbound Highway 52 closes at 5 a.m. Saturday, June 25.
Motorists will begin to encounter lane closures on southbound I-35E starting at Maryland Avenue, and a single lane will be open between University Avenue and I-94. During the ramp closure, southbound I-35E motorists will be detoured to eastbound Highway 36 and southbound I-694.
The restrictions are needed to allow crews to stripe and install curbs at the south end of the I-35E/Cayuga project. The southbound I-35E lanes and ramp are expected to reopen by 7 p.m., Sunday, June 26.
The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga project, which aims to reconstruct I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
