Lane closures and a weekend closure of northbound Hwy 100 begins June 8
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling northbound on Highway 100 between Edina and Golden Valley/Minnetonka, will encounter lane closures during the week, a weekend road closure and a detour beginning June 8, as crews repair the road.
At 9 p.m., Wed., June 8, northbound Highway 100 between W 50th Street and W 44th Street will be reduced to one lane. Motorists should be prepared for slow moving traffic and allow for extra drive time.
At 10 p.m. Fri., June 10, northbound Highway 100 between Highway 62 and I-394 will close. The highway and associated ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, June 13.
During the weekend closure, motorists will be detoured to I-394, Highway 169 and Highway 62 or to I-394, I-35W and Highway 62.
The $16.7 million pavement preservation project began in 2015 and will be complete in Aug 2016. Construction includes repairing the pavement on the road and ramps and on nine bridges along the highway. Construction crews will also remove the existing median guardrails and install concrete median barriers. The construction will provide a smoother, safer road surface, and improve and extend the life of the pavement.
