Southbound I-35W closed this weekend for resurfacing between New Brighton/Arden Hills and Roseville
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists may encounter delays this weekend during resurfacing of the southbound lanes of Interstate 35W between Interstate 694 in New Brighton/Arden Hills and Highway 36 in Roseville.
Southbound lane closures will begin around 7 p.m. Friday, July 29.
All ramps to and from southbound I-35W including I-694, County Road D, Highway 88, County Road C and Highway 36 will close at 9 p.m. County Road E2 is already closed and will remain closed. The southbound lanes of the interstate will close at 10 p.m. The interstate and all ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, August 1.
During the closure, southbound I-35W traffic will detour east on I-694, south on Highway 51/Snelling Avenue and west on Highway 36.
Motorists should use alternate routes to avoid congestion and follow the signed detours to reach their destinations.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-August, weather permitting.
Resurfacing the interstate extends the life of the highway and saves money while providing smoother and more reliable transportation for Twin Cities’ travelers.
