Microsurfacing work on Hwy 95 in North Branch begins Aug. 8
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter flagging, lane closures and delays as maintenance crews begin microsurfacing a section of Highway 95 in North Branch on Aug. 8, weather permitting.
Beginning at 8 a.m., Monday Aug. 8, both directions of Highway 95 between 4th Avenue and County Road 14 will have intermittent lane closures. Flaggers will control traffic in the project zone. Motorists should slow down as they approach the area and navigate carefully through the work zone.
The work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m.
Microsurfacing is a maintenance technique that has proven effective at extending pavement life of newer roadways at a fraction of the cost of resurfacing. The treatment is applied as a liquid consisting of asphalt, cement, aggregate and water. A Zamboni-like machine mixes and applies the material at a depth of around 3/8 of an inch.
