Overnight lane and road closures scheduled on Interstate 35E in White Bear Lake on July 12
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter overnight lane closures on both directions of Interstate 35E at Highway 96 in the northeast metro area on Tuesday, July 12.
Beginning at 7 p.m. southbound I-35E at Highway 96 in White Bear Lake will be reduced to a single lane with motorists being detoured up and down the Highway 96 ramps. Also at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 11, motorists on northbound I-35E will encounter intermittent road closures lasting 15 minutes as crew set each bridge beam.
In addition, both directions of Highway 96 from Centerville Road to White Bear Parkway will be closed during this work. All Highway 96 Bridge on and off ramps will be closed. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour.
Crews expect to complete this work by 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 12. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones.
The lane closures are part of the two-year I-35E Goose Lake Road and Highway 96 road resurfacing project. In addition to resurfacing, the work includes widening the road, re-decking and widening the Highway 96 bridge, replacing the I-35E bridges over Goose Lake Road, updating drainage, repairing guardrail and constructing a trail. The work is expected to be complete by December 2016.
