I-94 ramp closures in the East Metro begin Sept. 23

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter ramp closures and delays on westbound of Interstate 94 from St. Paul to Maplewood starting tomorrow, Sept. 23.

Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, the following ramps will close:

  • Westbound I-94 to McKnight Road
  • Westbound I-94 to Highway 61
  • Hudson Road to Westbound I-94 (first entrance ramp to westbound I-94 in front of 3M)

The closures are needed while crews repave the ramps. Access to local businesses and residences will remain open throughout the project. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours.

All ramps are expected to re-open by late-Nov., weather permitting.

The work is part of a larger two-year project which includes resurfacing both directions of Interstate 94 from Mounds Blvd to just east of Century Avenue in Woodbury, constructing and replacing noise walls, adding and extending auxiliary lanes in specific locations, bridge maintenance, updating signals and pedestrian access and improving drainage system. Construction is expected to be complete by late fall 2017.
