Public information meeting next Thursday for County Hwy 61/Hwy 41 improvements project
Carver County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) invite anyone with an interest in the
County Highway 61/Highway 41 Improvements Project to attend a public information meeting, scheduled for Sept. 15, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Chaska Events Center (part of the Curling Center complex at
3210 Chaska Boulevard, Chaska).
A brief presentation will begin at 6 pm. The purpose of the meeting is gather public input on the improvement options under consideration for both Highway 41 and County Highway 61 in Downtown Chaska. Visit the project website at www.highway4161.com for additional details.
The roadway and pedestrian improvement options under consideration are based on the following goals:
- Preserve an enrich the ambience of historic Downtown Chaska
- Provide a comprehensive network for non‐motorized transportation
- Safely accommodate all users
- Provide efficient and reliable vehicle mobility
- Provide infrastructure improvements compatible with the built and natural environment
- Develop a financially responsible implementation plan
A recommended improvement option for each roadway will be selected this fall. Once recommendations for improvements in Downtown Chaska are made, the project team will shift focus to the remaining study areas (shown on the map). Additional public information meetings for these study areas, along with more details on Downtown Chaska, are planned later this fall/winter and into early 2017.
