Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 12 closing Monday, Oct. 17 in Long Lake, Orono

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Highway 12 between Hennepin County Road 112 (Wayzata Blvd. W) in Long Lake and Hennepin County Road 6 in Orono will close at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 and remain closed for approximately three weeks.

During the closure, Highway 12 traffic will detour on County Road 112 through Orono and Long Lake. Motorists should expect significant delays and allow for extra time when traveling through the area.

Highway 12 is scheduled to re-open in mid-November 2016, weather permitting.
The closure is needed for crews to install a concrete-median barrier on Highway 12. The work is part of safety improvements for Highway 12 as recommended in the US 12 Road Safety Audit and will increase safety by preventing crossover crashes.
