Interstate 94 weekend lane closures in East Metro scheduled for Oct. 7-9
Roseville, Minn. – Motorists will encounter single lane traffic on westbound Interstate 94 while crews shift traffic on Oct. 7.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, westbound I-94 between Highway 61 to Mounds Boulevard will be reduced to one lane. The lanes will re-open by the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct 9, weather permitting.
This work will enable crews to provide motorists with three lanes in both directions of I-94 through the winter. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slowdown in work zones.
The work is part of a larger two-year project which includes resurfacing both directions of Interstate 94 from Mounds Blvd to just east of Century Avenue in Woodbury, constructing and replacing noise walls, adding and extending auxiliary lanes in specific locations, bridge maintenance, updating signals and pedestrian access and improving drainage system. Construction is expected to be complete by late fall 2017.
