Southbound Interstate 35E/Cayuga Street ramp in St. Paul opens Dec. 2
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will soon have full access around the Interstate 35E/Cayuga Street interchange as the new ramp from southbound I-35E to Cayuga Street opens in St. Paul on Friday, Dec. 2.
The southbound exit ramp at the Cayuga Street interchange is the fourth and final ramp to open. The northbound I-35E entrance and exit ramps at Cayuga Street opened in 2013 and 2014, and the ramp from Cayuga Street to southbound I-35E opened in Aug. 2016.
Miscellaneous activities, such as median work, bridge painting and project site clean-up, will occur as needed around the I-35E/Cayuga project area through spring 2017. Some temporary traffic restrictions may take place during these activities, but no additional long-term closures are anticipated.
The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga project, which included reconstructing I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
